Olaf Steinmeier, a mechanical engineer, currently holds the position of Head of the IAPT Center for Laser & Large Structures at the Fraunhofer Institution for Additive Production Technologies (IAPT). With 8 years of experience as a scientist, he has been actively involved in the development of laser and additive manufacturing (AM) processes. Olaf serves as the contact person for ship and rail applications at the research institution IAPT in Hamburg, formerly known as Laser Zentrum Nord. Right from the beginning, he has been a member of the mga community and leads the working group on education.
