Technische Universität Berlin

The Department of Machines and Technologies for the Additive Precision Manufacturing of Metal Components (MTAP) at Technische Universität Berlin has been newly established as part of the 1000 Professorships Programme. Prof. Dr Julian Polte was appointed on 20 May 2022 and his research focuses on the development of machines and technologies for the Additive Manufacturing of precision metal components in the context of innovative process chains. The diverse interactions of process design, machine, process control, geometry, process and production measurement technology as well as the resulting component properties are investigated for established and newly developed technologies. The additive process chain is also analysed with regard to further processing and post-processing using machining and ablative precision manufacturing processes and their influence on the component.
