Wiener Stadtwerke

Wiener Stadtwerke uses additive manufacturing as a key technology to ensure the efficiency and security of supply of urban infrastructure and to contribute to the energy transition. Wiener Netze acts as the central know-how carrier in the Lead Competence Center. From here, 3D printing is coordinated and bundled throughout the Group in order to fully exploit the potential of the technology. The focus is on fast and needs-based spare parts production for network service providers, prototype construction and the promotion of the circular economy through material recycling. Wiener Linien uses 3D printing to maintain public transport by producing spare parts and special tools for subways and trams. The Group's subsidiaries apply their expertise directly: Wien Energie manufactures essential spare parts for power plants and waste incineration plants in the energy sector in order to ensure long-term maintenance. The goal is an agile, future-proof and resource-saving infrastructure for Vienna.
