Creating an AM Readiness Tool for Medical AM for a standardized framework within the medical field
Under the lead of Alexander Xepapadeas, the AM-TRL group is working on a comprehensive AM Readiness Tool designed to advance the adoption and implementation of AM technologies in the medical sector. The tool is based on 15 dimensions to assess readiness as well as 9 maturity levels and focuses on Hospitals, MedTech and Pharma.
The tool aims to:
- Improve access to knowledge, expertise, and collaboration within the AM community
- Bring AM technologies closer to end users (clinicians, industry, decision-makers)
- Support market entry for both EU and non-EU AM companies
- Facilitate implementation in proof-of-concept (PoC) environments and industrial settings
- Enhance the overall maturity and capability of the AM industry
- Provide decision-makers with insights that go beyond technical machine parameters
