Materials

When it comes to higher accuracies, better components, new technologies and new AM applications, there is no getting around one topic: MATERIALS

It is for this reason that in this working group we bundle our interests to better understand the market and to advance AM together.

Our mission: We want to drive the industrialization of AM and inspire new approaches for the topic of materials. To achieve this we use the potential of the network to identify customer needs and market trends. In Addition we provide technological expertise and guidelines within the network.

And where can I find the existing elastomers on the market? To give users a better orientation, this focus group is developing a material compass on weboostam.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Testing Methods”][vc_column_text]What are AM specific testing methods? Are there technologically determined material properties that are not taken into account in conventional testing methods? To answer these questions, the focus group is developing a database on weboostam.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Technical Standards”][vc_column_text]This focus group is all about standardization, guidelines and standards in 3D printing. To gather existing knowledge, a database with all technical standards in additive manufacturing in cooperation with DIN, ISO, ASTM and the VDI was created on weboostam.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”High Performance Polymers”][vc_column_text]This group focuses on one big picture: flame retardant polymers for rail. Material developers, machine manufacturers and eight European state railroads are developing a better understanding of the necessary tests and required material properties in the EN45545 standard in the cooperation RAILiability & friends.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Metals”][vc_column_text]Is industrial additive manufacturing actually reproducible and reliable? Can we trust this technology? These questions were this focus group’s motivation for a round robin test on LBPF with AlSi10Mg. The summary of all results is available for download for all MGA members since October 2020 and for sale as a study for all non-members.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][/vc_accordion][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”45″][vc_column_text]
