we were completely overwhelmed by the great amount of feedback to support the recent request raised by the European Commission (to help to overcome the Corona crisis). Over 250 companies from all industries including automotive and sportswear have replied to offer support, materials and capacities in fighting the Corona virus.

All proposals are currently being reviewed and validated by the European Commission to who – with the support of the VDI – those have been forwarded to during the last days and hours. It is intended that upon specific demand the European Commission is going to contact the relevant companies directly.

However, we currently witness that there seems to be a delay in responding or shortage. This is why we decided to move on and use the positive energy to bundle forces in good sense.

we were totally overwhelmed by the huge offer of help that was made on our last mail two days ago.

Over 190 companies from all industries including automotive and sportswear have signed up to offer support, materials and capacity in the fight against the corona virus. 

The post referred to a recent request from the European Commission. The Commission is currently evaluating the offers and is approaching the companies that have contacted the vdi directly separately. Apparently there seems to be a bottleneck in the number of contacts.

We would like to go a step further and use the positive energy to bundle capacities in a sensible way.

To this end, we have decided to use our Medical goes Additive working group meeting planned for next week specifically as a 3D printing pandemic task force. We are thus opening the virtual working group meetings next week to non-members as well.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]At the same time, we are approaching the companies that have contacted us directly to request structured information. Our goal is to be able to offer a bundling function of the incredibly committed 3D printing industry, which can be accessed by pandemic working groups or medical technology departments of hospitals at regional and central level.

We are currently in contact with relevant suppliers in the medical technology sector to identify any support needs. We are also networking with higher-level pandemic task forces in order to be able to match supply and demand in a coordinated manner.

Our preferred channels of communication will be our website and LinkedIn, which we will use for regular information. We would like to thank you once again for your dedicated, generous and above all quick feedback!
